Trees and Dating

The mighty cottonwood tree showing it's true colors
For dates, my husband and I will sometimes go on photoshoots. We don't always know what we're looking to photograph when we leave, but we always find something that stands out.  Sometimes it's just the tree down the street, and sometimes we seek out vast vistas on a hike.  It's time well-spent with one another.  We learn together.  We grow together.  We find trees (and other things), together.

Enjoy this look at my 3 favorite trees that we found on our dates in 2017

Capitol Reef National Park.  We went on an anniversary trip last summer to revisit this beautiful place, the place where we spent our first-year anniversary.  The tree in this photo deserves his place in the spotlight, just look at the adversity he has had to overcome to get to where he is!  I must say he has a great view from where he stands and whatever trials he had to endure to get there was worth it.  Steve took this photo.

Capitol Reef National Park.  "Oh, How lovely was the morning!  Radiant beamed the sun above!"  Those are the words from a well-loved hymn that come to mind whenever I see this picture.  I was standing beneath this tree in a clearing where we were eating our picnic lunch (my kind of romance).  It's shade was a welcome retreat from the blazing sun that afternoon. When I looked up, I loved how the sun was just peeking out from among the twisted branches.

Middle of nowhere between Roosevelt and Vernal somewhere.  If we're ever taking the scenic route to Vernal, we get to pass under this pillar of a tree.  It stands alone and creeps it's heavy branches over the roadway (see the opening picture of this blog post.).  The fall colors were brilliant this past fall and we couldn't resist stopping to photograph this beauty.
