Uilani and Mansan's Maui Wedding - Ceremony

Their ceremony was held at Kalama Beach Park, the ocean only feet away from their backdrop.  The wedding was full of love that you could feel from the uniting of these two people and their families.  Although the forecast was for rain, we were blessed with blue skies.

The ceremony was beautiful and it was my first time witnessing the traditions I saw there.  The officiator blew into a large shell to unite us together at the beginning and at the end. It was blown in a specific way to appease the 4 gods of fire, land, sea, and air and to usher in Mana (energy) from heaven. Leis were exchanged, rings were exchanged, and lot of kissing was part of the ceremony.  The officiator did a wonderful job and a brief 15 minutes later, Uilani and Mansan were pronounced husband and wife.

P.S. As a funny little side note, the wedding party was running late to the wedding and the officiator had to be to another wedding.  We got a phone call from the bride on our way to the venue.  She asked my husband (my second shooter) that just in case the officiator had to leave, if he wouldn't mind marrying them.  She said the papers were already signed and official they just needed to exchange vows.  My husband said a sheepish yes and then began praying that the officiator would have time to marry them.  His prayers were answered.
