The bodice had beautiful detailing |
The hotel room was buzzing with excitement as women scrambled from one place to another to try to get the bridal party ready in time for the wedding. The beautiful bride, Uilani, had 4 daughters to get ready before she even stepped into her wedding gown, and time was not on her side. The officiator was waiting and had another appointment the very next hour, so everyone had to really hurry. She had her cousin helping with hair and makeup and her oldest daughter and mother also helping get the younger ones dressed and ready. Later on, her soon-to-be mother-in-law and auntie came and helped.
I tried to stay out of everyone's way while snapping photos here and there, capturing the story of that moment. It was a whirlwind in there! The smoke alarm went off from the steam (smoke?) coming off the hair as 2 flat irons were working overtime to straighten one daughter's hair. Being in a hotel, the desk attendants had to come and inspect to make sure everything was truly safe. Surprisingly, amidst all the chaos everyone was kind, loving and helpful. I loved every second of it.
When all was said and done, everyone looked amazing and we all raced down to the cars to drive to the wedding venue.
Here are just a few of the photos I chose from that session that give you a glimpse of being there.

Mother of the bride weaving the ribbon through the many loops on the bride's dress |

The bride getting makeup, hair, and dress done up on a major time crunch with the baby playing at her feet |
|
Baby found the pretty dresses laid out on the bed |
|
When it was baby's turn to get dressed, it took 2 people to do the job |

Pinning on the beautiful flower crown |
|
Scoping out her accessories that match her pretty pink dress |
|
The beautiful curls that took 3 hours in the making |
|
I loved the length of the brides lashes in this shot as she was finishing pressing her lipstick between her lips |
|
The last glimpse of the bride before the wedding. I like this shot because of the mystery it invokes. Her husband is waiting patiently for his first look 20 minutes away on the beach where they will be wed. |

And they're off to the wedding venue. |
