Pike Family Photos at the Old Homestead

The Pike family is so much fun to hang out with, and as you would assume, they made our photoshoot a wonderfully fun experience.  They took us to their old family homestead that has been abandoned and has memories, treasures, and history at every turn.  It's pretty much a photographer's paradise, other than the cows that scared us at the very beginning as they began to run at us.  No worries though, Janae, the quick-thinking mother of the family, got her van to honk its horn and the cows wandered off to another pasture, leaving us the homestead for ourselves.

The colorful bus was painted at a family gathering of theirs a few years ago.  I asked how the bus got there, and that's a mystery.  I must say I loved, loved, LOVED that bus!

Much of the property is covered in tall trees, many of which are fruit trees and in bloom this time of year!  SCORE!  I love photos with blossoms!  It was especially fitting because we took these on Mother's Day, when all of Mother Earth's offspring bear their beautiful blooms!

The buildings on the property all had character up to wazoo! I'd love to know the stories that the walls would tell.

We did several different family photos.  Then we did individuals of everyone, too.

We found some cool treasures around the property to spell out their family name on a shelf hanging from the old house.  We also took photos on the steps next to the pipe railings, the pipe being cool because their grandpa was a plumber.
