One-Year-Old Cake Smash!
Our first ever cake smash took place a few days ago and it was so much fun! I can't wait to do another one!
We started the session with a typical photoshoot, all nicely dressed, coaxing cute smiles, etc. Then we had some fun with him and brought out some balloons and bubbles. I cannot tell you how much he loved the balloons! After getting several adorable shots, he changed into his cake smash attire.
His cake coordinated perfectly with his outfit. I particularly loved the bright green frosting because it showed up so nicely on camera. We sat him in front of the cake and he continued to give us cute smiles, then his mom showed him that he could touch the cake, and from then on out we watched him smash away. It's truly one of the most fun photoshoots around!
After everything had been smashed I was impressed with how much cake he actually ate. I think he enjoyed himself as much as we enjoyed watching him.
We had a vinyl table cloth draped over a blanket on the floor which made clean up pretty easy. His mom used our kitchen sink to clean him off before changing him back into everyday clothes. His frosting-ified clothes were placed in a plastic bag. We all enjoyed some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies before they left. It was also a pleasure to get to meet his grandma and grandpa who were able to join us in witnessing this super-fun event. Anyone feel like smashing some cake?
