A Triple Threat On A Mission

Crossing the street oldest to youngest
I'm just reminiscing from some good times last summer.  Quite possibly one of my favorite photoshoots of all time was with the Halsell family.  They're salt-of-the-earth people, friendly, and fun!  We took family pictures, portraits of the boys, some photos of the parents, some missionary photos, some fun photos, some reminiscent/ inside-joke photos, some overly-dramatic photos, and some epic photos.  And we did it all in an hour!  Processing the edits took multiple hours because there were so many fun photos we just couldn't pass up.

Take a look at some of our favorites from that day.
I spoke with a friend about using her property for the photos and she not only gave us permission, she recommended the use of an old cabin in one of their fields as a backdrop.  What a really cool, historic cabin it was, too.  It's now used as a tool shed.
It was early evening on a beautifully warm summer day.  The field was quiet and serene and the Halsell family were all dressed to impress.  The setting couldn't have been better!

This family is close with 3 boys close in age and mission-bound.  They all taught martial arts together for several years.  Maybe as you peruse through the photos we took you'll be able to tell.

The middle son, Aaron, was our home teacher before he left on his mission.  He'd visit our home once a month and check up on our family.  He brought great messages and taught our family much.  His testimony was inspiring.
Adam is the oldest and is also on a mission.  He has a perfect smile, don't you think?
Ammon is the youngest and currently teaches our gospel principles class at church. He's the youngest, and he's also the tallest.

Aaron mentioned he'd like to bring his sword.  If you know our creative family, we thought a sword was a fabulous idea.  It is my favorite picture we took that day.

See?  A sword makes all the difference.  So cool.

Our daughter got to get in on the action and...well... add some drama to this photoshoot.

Now, don't you wish you had a sword to pose with?  Think about it for your next photoshoot.

These last few were so in the future, Chris could make a collage with them pointing off toward a sign that would tell where they served on their missions.

What good times!
